the curriculum and is designed to develop a positive attitude
and encourage lifelong exercise and a healthy lifestyle.

full description of our health policy.
Physical Education Program
The Physical Education Program aims to create
experiences in a broad range of skills and sports so that the
students have a variety of choices available to them. We encourage
the students to strive towards personal and team goals, to accept
challenges with a positive attitude and to be able to deal with
successs and failure as a learning experience.
The Launceston Preparatory School Outdoor Education Programme
In their final three years at the school, children
will have four outdoor camps- one in each of years four and five
and two in year six. These have not been assembled in any haphazard
fashion but, like any curriculum development, with conscious reference
to the needs of our students and our school philosophy.
Sport Roster
All students from groups 4-6 participate in Friday
afternoon Summer and Winter rostered sports. They also have the
additional option of playing a second sport after school throughout
the year.
Students in grade 3 are encouraged to attend training sessions
in preparation for their involvement in competitive roster matches
in the following year.
Training for rostered sport is held after school on Tuesdays or
during the lunch hour for soccer and tennis.
The Launceston Preparatory School is part of the Northern Independent
Junior Schools Sporting Association (NIJSSA) which includes nine
of the local independent schools in the Launceston area.
Summer Sports include T-Ball (modified softball), super 10's cricket
(modified cricket) and tennis.
The winter sports roster includes football, netball, hockey and
soccer.
Students may also participate in tennis during third term.
