Parents' Club

The Parents’ Club of The Launceston Preparatory School states as its mission to “… fully support the spirit of The Launceston Preparatory School, enhancing the opportunities of our children to become effective citizens.” They aim to achieve this by:
• “fostering a sense of community

• being a channel for providing relevant information in a timely manner to parents and staff

• positively promoting the school and its philosophy

• purchasing resources to directly benefit students of the school.”

Membership is open and free to all parents and guardians of students at the school.

The group meets on each first Tuesday of the month (excepting school holidays). Meetings are informal and provide an opportunity for parents to meet each other, share ideas, learn more about the school and help to plan fundraising activities.

Once each term, the Parents’ Club convenes an information night. This usually involves teaching staff presenting information on the philosophy and practices of the school, Committee of Management members sharing ideas on the strategic development and management of the school, or guest speakers from relevant community organisations addressing parents on topics of interest.

In addition, the Co-Principals and Committee of Management are represented at each meeting and welcome relevant questions. (Concerns relating to specific children are best raised with teachers on a more personal level.)
