We are seeking a warm, capable and proactive Relief Teacher Aide to join our dynamic Early Learning and Primary team at The Launceston Preparatory School.
This relief position supports our classroom teachers in fostering a caring, purposeful and engaging environment where each child is supported in their learning and well-being journey.
At The LPS, we follow the Paideia philosophy, which focuses on educating the whole child – mind, body, and heart.
Key Responsibilities
Support teaching staff in preparing and delivering learning activities
Work alongside students to encourage participation and confidence
Assist in maintaining a calm, orderly, and inclusive classroom
Help with general duties to support the flow of the school day
Provide assistance with the educational program under the direction of a teacher, working with individuals or small groups of students
Assist teachers with the care of students on school excursions, sports days and other classroom or playground activities
Supervise and participate in activities to improve the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of children
Collect data and observations of students who are on / proposed to be on Individualised Learning Plans
Take part in actively fostering and improving the strong identity and culture of our school
We Are Looking For Someone Who
Has a genuine love of working with children and a calm, positive manner
Can work collaboratively within a small and highly dedicated staff team
Demonstrates initiative, flexibility and professionalism in all interactions
Understands and supports the school’s commitment to child safeguarding
Holds or is willing to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People card (Tas.)
Previous experience in a school or early learning setting is desirable but not essential. A Certificate III or IV in Education Support is highly regarded.

We Are Looking For Someone Who
Is a qualified and registered teacher (Tasmania) with a love of working with children, as well as hold a Working With Vulnerable People card and Certificate in Safeguarding Children (desirable).

We are seeking a friendly, organised, and highly professional Administration Officer to join our school on a temporary, part-time basis (0.2 FTE). This role is central to the smooth running of our front office and plays a key part in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for students, families, staff, and visitors.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for our school community, you will provide a warm and professional front-of-house presence while supporting the Principal and wider administration team. You will contribute to the day-to-day operations of the school through a variety of administrative, organisational, and communication tasks.Key Responsibilities
Provide a welcoming, friendly, and professional reception service
Support the Principal with administrative and secretarial tasks
Respond to general enquiries with efficiency and care
Collaborate with the Business Manager and Community Engagement Officer on daily operations
Maintain accurate student records and filing systems (digital and hard copy)
Prepare and distribute school communications, including newsletters and reports
Manage school supplies and coordinate ordering (e.g. stationery, uniforms, lunches)
Coordinate bookings for excursions, transport, and events
Oversee student lunch ordering and distribution
Ensure visitor management aligns with school safety policies
Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
Skills and Experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, approachable manner
Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to build strong relationships
Strong written communication skills with attention to detail
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise in a busy environment
Confident using office systems, databases, and digital platforms
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to support the broader team

First Aid, Allergy Awareness, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis training
